Your Domain isBetter with Truehost

You need control of the existing registration and the information that permits its release. Begin with the provider holding it rather than creating a new registration order.

1. Open the security or transfer panel for the name.
2. Retrieve its release key and remove an optional registrar lock.
3. Make sure approval can reach the registered contact.
4. Use the complete spelling in this form and supply authorisation during ordering.

If a required waiting period blocks the move, ask your current registrar when it ends before placing another order.

The server can stay where it is. Registration management moves between providers, while the site and stored messages remain with their hosting services unless you arrange another migration.

• Leave those website and mail subscriptions running.
• Retain routing that points visitors and incoming messages to them.
• Arrange continuing DNS separately if the departing provider withdraws that service.

If server content is moving too, include its files, database and mail in a separate hosting migration plan.

The table above prices the registrar change by ending. These commonly requested options use the same current pricing service:

• .co.ke: Kshs 1,000.00
• .ke: Kshs 2,999.00
• .com: Kshs 1,259.00

When the transfer line reads zero, that service has no charge. Retaining the address in later terms remains a paid renewal service.

Review the chosen extension and the resulting order total before payment.

The relevant policy for generic names can impose a 60-day wait following initial registration, a registrar change or certain edits to ownership information.

• Identify when the registration began and when it last moved.
• Request the recorded cause of the restriction.
• Establish the effect of an ownership edit before changing those details.

An optional registrar security setting and a policy-enforced wait are different restrictions. Kenyan namespaces follow their own release rules.

The departing provider issues a secret value that authorises the gaining provider to request release. Depending on the panel, it may be called an EPP code, Auth code or transfer key.

1. Find the key-retrieval control in the registration panel.
2. Request assistance from the departing provider if retrieval is unavailable.
3. Paste the issued value without altering punctuation or character case.

Share it only through the appropriate private order process. If rejected, obtain a replacement and establish whether the registration can currently be released.

Approval and registry processing determine completion. Leave time before expiry rather than combining an urgent renewal with an untested move.

• Establish release eligibility and obtain valid authorisation.
• Respond promptly when the departing provider requests approval.
• Keep routing, mail and website services working throughout processing.

Yes, bring either Kenyan namespace to your account while retaining the registered spelling. Start with the provider currently holding the name.

1. Retrieve its EPP authorisation value.
2. Remove a removable registrar lock, if present.
3. Enter the registered spelling, for example biashara.co.ke.
4. Place the request and complete any approval process.

Current quotes: Kshs 1,000.00 for a .co.ke move; Kshs 2,999.00 for a .ke move.

Ask for the registration’s exact status first. Some expired generic names remain eligible for release; redemption changes the next step to restoration at the departing provider.

• Establish which expiry or recovery stage applies.
• Request confirmation that authorisation and release remain available.
• Recover a registration in redemption before ordering its move.

For a .ke namespace, support can establish the applicable process. Begin an active registration’s handover early enough to resolve an approval problem before renewal becomes urgent.

Keep working nameservers when their DNS service will continue. A different registrar alone is no reason to change where an address resolves.

1. Record the active zone and the nameservers serving it.
2. Establish continued service with the DNS operator.
3. Prepare equivalent destination routing if that operator will change.
4. Check the website and exchange messages through the business mailbox after completion.

For a simultaneous site move, redirect only after the destination behaves correctly.

Ask through site chat or your account’s support tickets. Explain where progress stopped so the team can investigate the correct registration and order.

• Supply the spelling and departing provider’s name.
• Include the order reference for a submitted request.
• Describe the error or restriction you encountered.

Use the preparation guides alongside the departing provider’s own release instructions.
