Match the Java server version to the clients joining it. Add the chosen plugins or modpack to your sizing plan; an empty world is a different workload from a busy modded one.
Use Bedrock’s dedicated server software and its supported Linux environment. Set the required network ports, then test joining from the devices your group will use.
Choose a game with dedicated server software that supports Linux. Its own documentation should establish the memory, disk and network requirements before you choose a VPS.
Watch CPU and memory during world generation or scripted events. Change the settings or capacity connected to that load instead of assuming more RAM fixes everything.
Check the route from your players’ locations. Our VPS locations are Europe/USA, so Kenyan players’ connection quality needs testing before you open a public server.
Leave disk space for new regions and logs. Keep recovery copies away from the running server so you can recover the world if the VPS copy becomes unusable.
Configure the game version, world settings, permissions and any allowlist. Keep administrator access private.
Have friends join, explore and use the mods you plan to keep. Check resource usage during that session, not just while the server is empty.
Restart the service and check that the world and player progress return. Test a saved copy before depending on it for recovery.
Your game’s server software and saved world run on a remote server. Players connect to it, so the world does not depend on your home computer staying on.
With our Linux VPS, you install and maintain the game server yourself.

Choose the resources for your game, world and mods first. Any paid game software or panel is a separate cost.
Our VPS hosting is a paid service. The server resources, game software and any software licences are separate things to budget for.
