How to disable firewall or IP tables on Ubuntu Linux server - Web hosting in Kenya & Domain Names in Kenya

Approach 1: Simple

To List UFW (default firewall on Ubuntu) run the following command

$ sudo ufw status verbose

Sample output

Status: active
Logging: on (low)
Default: deny (incoming), allow (outgoing), deny (routed)
New profiles: skip

To disable UFW firewall run the following command

$ sudo ufw disable

Alternatively, run the following command to list any existing firewall rules

$ sudo iptables -L –n

To stop and Flush all the rules run the following commands

$ sudo iptables -P INPUT ACCEPT
$ sudo iptables -P FORWARD ACCEPT
$ sudo iptables -P OUTPUT ACCEPT
