Bandwidth is the amount of data that can be transmitted over a period of time. Bandwidth is condumed when data is retrieved from the server and elivered to the user as well as when end user uploads data into to the server. For hosted accounts, bandwidth can be consumed to the limit and this normally leads to auto suspension of the account. However, for an account in a cloud server, this can be set as unlimited. Either way, bandwidth monitoring is crucial.
In WHM, this can be achieved by accessing WHM>>>Account Information>>>View Bandwidth Usage.
Information on a specific account’s bandwidth usage can also be obtained from the cpanel under the Statistics pane. See image below
More details bandwidth usage information can be obtained in the cpanel by accessing cPanel>>>Metrics>>>Bandwidth.
Here, bandwidth is analysed in a per month basis for HTTP, Email protocols (POP, IMAP, SMTP) and FTP. It also makes use of graphs that illustrate bandwidth usage over 1 year and another illustrating the usage for the whole week.
Statistics on bandwidth usage for the whole lifetime of the domain are also available here.
