HOW TO CHANGE THE IDLE TIMEOUT OF A IIS APPLICATION POOL ON PLESK.

Requirements:
Technical knowledge of Plesk.

Step 1: Login to the administrator’s side of PLESK.

Step 2: Scroll to Tools and Settings click on it to open up various settings for various features. Locate this feature:

Step 3: Click on Global settings and ensure the feature below is enabled.

  • The change is dependent on if the application pool is enabled for the subscriptions. Feature one and two(on the image) will work for this configuration

Step 4: Scroll back to Domains sections

Step 5: Search for your domain and click on it to open up its specific settings. Search for this specific setting

Dedicated IIS application pool for website.

Step 6: Open up the feature.

Check the amount of seconds set for IDLE timeout.

By default 5 MINUTES

Step 7: Increasing the time to a considerable amount like 1440 (A day).

Step 8: Apply then Save the settings

    You are amazing. Thank you so much. Helped me a lot. I just have a question, Idle timeout action is selected as Terminate. It obviously terminates the worker process. What are the other options?
